SB 1213 - effective July 1, 2016 - prohibits the use of UAS for hunting, molesting or locating game animals, game birds and furbearing animals.
Idaho Code 21-213 (2013) - restricts UAS use for unwarranted surveillance of persons or property and identifies approved commercial operations.
The Governor of Idaho signed Senate Bill (SB) 1134 (download below) in Session Law Chapter 328 on April 11, 2013. It went into effect on July 1, 2013. This was an act relating to Aeronautics; amending Chapter 2, Title 21, Idaho Code, by the addition of a new section 21-213, Idaho Code, to define a term, to establish provisions relating to restrictions on the use of unmanned aircraft systems, to provide exceptions, to provide for a civil cause of action, to provide for certain damages and to provide that an owner of certain facilities shall not be prohibited from using an unmanned aircraft system to inspect such facilities.
SB 1134 defines an “Unmanned Aircraft System,” requires warrants for their use by law enforcement, establishes guidelines for their use by private citizens and provides civil penalties for damages caused by improper use.
