SF 170 - defines the term operator and defines “UA” to exclude sUA, weighing under 55 pounds. The law requires the Wyoming Aeronautics Commission to develop rules regulating where UA can take off and land. The commission is also permitted to develop reasonable rules regulating the operation of UA through coordination with the UA industry and local governments. The law specifies that the commission does not have the power to regulate UA operation in navigable airspace. It also makes it unlawful to land a UA on the property of another person, but operators can pilot a UA over their own property.
